DotW RP: Kausen Tour

Krisket shook out his fur, as if shaking it would remove his unease. He was walking, the young wolf had only been in Kausen a few hours and was already confused, it was so weird here. And there were a lot of wolves.
The fact he knew none of them made Krisket uneasy, he hated to feel like he was being judged or out of his depth. The thought made him raise his head and straighten his posture, an act of fake indifference, -even though he couldn’t see anyone specifically watching him.

The golden wolf glanced upwards; it was a clear day, with no wind, the time gradually heading towards mid-day. It would have been more enjoyable if he knew where he was though.

Apparently he was supposed to wait at the main den or something and someone would show him around, but he had never been one to wait, and he hadn’t really gone far. Asking directions back to the main den was completely out of the question too, what would they think if he acted like this on day one?  No, instead he continued on his way, acting like he knew exactly where he was going.

Trotting toward the main camp of Kausen, the lanky juvenile moved with purpose in his steps. Usually Boone would be hanging around with Tagen or Piper, but today he was charged with showing one of the new members around the territory by the alpha himself.  Most would see that as a step up or that they were trusted by Gregor, but to Boone it just meant that his grandfather had told him to do a job and he would obey like the responsible boy he had become.

Boone's amber eyes searched the area as he entered into the camp. They finally rested on a golden wolf sitting near the middle. He had a look of indifference on his face, but by his body language, Boone could tell that he was a little nervous. He smiled and trotted up to the young male.

"Hey there! You must be Krisket, right?" The jovial adolescent greeted. "I'm Boone."

The voice of another came as a surprise, and Krisket jumped slightly. He quickly composed himself and turned to the wolf who had spoken.
“Huh? Oh hey” Krisket spoke with barely concealed relief, “Yeah, that’s me. Good to meet you, Boone.” The golden juvenile smiled and stood up in casual greeting.
Krisket paused for a second, “Are you the one who was gonna show me around?” He asked. It made sense if so, how else would this Boone know his name?

"Yep, that's what I'm here for!" He said with a grin and an enthusiastic nod. He'd never given a tour of Kausen before, but he had been on a few. He still remembered the first time Gregor took him and Piper around the territory.

"So where do you wanna start?" Boone asked with a curious tilt of his head. "Well obviously we're at the main camp right now, but we don't have to start here if you don't want to!"

Krisket smiled at the other wolf's enthusiasm, and looked around at the unfamiliar scenery that was the main camp.

The young wolf felt a surge of excitement as he realized this was where he was going to live now. His new home! So many new possibilities here!
He quickly pushed his excitement away though; no way he wanted people thinking he was weird or over-excitable. He had to stay cool.

"Well.. I don't know this place yet, -you choose." Krisket said, he was happy to go along with whatever Boone decided.

"Okie dokie!" Boone said with a wag of his tail after Krisket finally replied. "Let's seee..where could we start." The lanky juvenile peered around, mentally checking off all of the interesting or exciting places in Kausen. After a few moments his expression finally switched to excitement. "OH I know! This way please!" He chirped, quickly setting off toward the northeast side of the territory.

Krisket let himself grin happily for a second; the excitement from this young wolf was pretty contagious.
“Cool with me.” He said, following Boone towards the forest. The air seemed sweet and clear, the leaves high above them barely moved, birdsong echoed in the canopy.
Krisket looked around him, taking it all in, but trying not to look as amazed as he felt.

Boone led Krisket through the forest and toward the border. It wasn't exactly at the border, but you could smell the scent markers in the distance. Boone lifted up a leaf for Krisket to walk under. Once he had, Boone followed suit. A wide grin was on the lanky juveniles face as they descended into what he liked to call 'the jungle' of Kausen. Huge trees with vines and fruit hanging off of them, lush bushes with ginormous leaves, and a sweet scent surrounded them.

The forest looked amazing! It was so massive and everything looked so different and new to Krisket as he followed after Boone. He was however, careful not to get his fur covered in leaves – or even worse, bugs.
He glanced over at the other wolf, smiling when he saw Boone's large, happy grin.
"So.. How long have you been in Kausen? The orange marked wolf asked, he was curious to find more out about this pack he was now part of.

Boone was happy to see that Krisket enjoyed the view. He wagged his tail a few times before he answered. "Oh I've been here since I was real little. My sister brought me here from Blutwald, that's where I was born." He sat himself down on a bed of leaves and vines. "What about you? Were you in a pack before you came to Kausen?" Boone cocked his head as he asked his question, obvious curiosity on his face.

“Blutwald”? The name was new to Krisket, but he thought he should probably try to remember it. He stopped walking when Boone stopped, but stood comfortably instead of sitting.  
The blonde Juvenile’s eyes darted away to the side when Boone asked his question. He considered acting like he had not heard the query, and try to change the subject, but he didn’t want to do that to the other male.
To cover his uncomfortableness he simply shrugged. “Yeah I was, but I left. The Leaders there were not… very good leaders.” The gold male conveniently left out that the leaders he spoke of were his own parents.
“Do you have any idea what you want to do in the future? Kinda like with a job or task?” Krisket had a clear idea of what he wanted to do, but was curious about Boone’s goals.

Boone waited patiently for Krisket's answer. He could tell by the way he averted his eyes that he was uncomfortable with the topic, and Boone decided that he wouldn't push it if he decided to be vague. After all, they had just met, it wasn't Boone's place to pry. At least, not yet. When the golden juvenile finally answered, Boone tilted his head and furrowed his brows in compassion for the male.

"Aw, I'm sorry. At least you're not there anymore though, right?" He decided to leave it at that and smiled, wagging his tail a few times. However, his smile dimmed slightly at Krisket's next question. Now it was his time to get a little uncomfortable "Well, sort of." He said, pausing. "Maybe..." Now it sounded like he was trying to convince himself, but finally he gave up. "Okay, I have no idea." He dropped his eyes and shuffled his paws nervously.

Krisket was touched by the other male's concern and empathy, the kindness he had experienced within Kausen still felt new to him. The blonde male relaxed more and he was glad Boone had not questioned him further.
"Hey, you'll figure something out." Krisket said confidently, he had no doubt Boone would be good at many things, "there are probably tons of jobs to do anyways, and it’s not like your hard to work with." He grinned.

Boone smiled at Krisket's compliment. Not many wolves thought of it that way. Sure they thought he was nice, but he was easily distracted and usually not very serious. Definitely not guard material. Perhaps a den mother? But that sounded too girly. Boone shrugged. "Maybe someday I'll figure something out." He looked up at his companion with a hopeful smile. "So what about you? What task do you want?"

"I'm gonna be a hunter." Krisket said without hesitation. It was what he was best at and he loved to hunt, although he was already aware Kausen had many other hunters -and this worried him a little. He pushed the thought away as he always did.
Smiling a Boone, he stood up "Shall we get going then?" There was a lot to be done, and they could always talk while they walked.
