Sparkanine:

Evening was finally turning to dusk, the song birds had all gone to bed and the night owls were beginning to wake; flying in the sky and looking for their prey. Insects and small reptilians were out as the sun set as well; happy to get a break from the scoring heat, at least for the night.

Hyena too was out tonight, much like every other night- he was more of a night owl anyway. His slim and light form moved through the woods, his happy go lucky mood humming through the air as he sand aloud. "The little bird flew so far only to fall off the branch and become no more." His songs never made any sense. Hyena was well aware that he was near a packs border, but he honestly didn't care any- he wasn't one for.. boundaries, personal or physical.

His scared and mangled body moved silently and swiftly, like always- seeming almost as though he was walking on air as his one olive green eye scanned the area. "Crashing to the ground having a snake keep you bound, you'll never come around, never come home again." Hyena continued to sing his nonsense, his ears twitching every now and again as he moved, seeming to walk right along the insides of this packs borders. Though his movements made it look like he was searching for something; or someone, Hyena was really just- being himself, though one might say he was looking for a little bit of.. Chaos.

As the moon replaced the sun, Lyn thought it was time for one last patrol. Though most animals slept at night- aside from the obvious nocturnal animals -she was still on guard. With all the heavy rains lately, one never knew who might trespass when everyone was sleeping. She made her way toward the border and almost immediately smelled a stranger. She was glad that she had decided to do one last patrol, or they might be half way into the territory by now.

Lyn decided on her usual approach, but as she grew closer, the sound of singing caused her to slow her pace. It was odd words, ones that didn't make sense together but had an overall uneasy feeling to them. And the way they were being sung? That just added to the scary factor. Lyn cleared her throat, now coming upon the stranger.

"Excuse me-" She said, but cut herself off. The stranger in question was an orange-brown wolf, but what caused her to stop short wasn't his fur color. It was his scars and his overall demeanor. He looked crazy, for lack of a better word. She quickly regained her composure though. "But uh, you're trespassing in Chandor territory."

-----

Sparkanine:

"Oooh?" Hyena turned around when someone spoke, to come face to face with a shewolf. He grinned, from ear to ear almost, and don't even get me started on his scent; vial, almost like something rotting- brings much of a reminder of death. Hyena chuckled when she regained her composure though. "Oh yes I know." He simply put his stub of a tail swishing behind him as he cackled a laugh.  "Just passing through miss!" He remarked before bringing his hind paw up and scratching behind his ear as he grumbled a bit. "Darn fleas." He barked out softly before sitting back and smiling at the other see wolf. Apparently he was not afraid, nor worried about being within' this packs territory.

Lyn wrinkled her nose. Now that she was closer to him, the smell was horrible. Had he been rolling in carcasses? He smelled like decaying flesh and blood- but for the most part, he looked clean. She was beginning to think that he might in fact be infected- but weren't they usually not coherent? She just stared at him while he scratched himself and pushed her ears back slightly.

"I'm sorry, but you'll have to go around us." She said, rather stiffly, trying not to let his appearance or his smell affect her speaking. If it were anyone else, she might let them pass through with an escort, but the vibes she was getting from this guy told her that there was no way she should let him just waltz in.

-----

Sparkanine:

"Us?" Hyena hissed, as he raised a brow, grinning widely as he looked at her, chuckling softly. "Oh but pardon me, miss, but I only have to go around you." He stated, rather calm and simple like- was he being threatening, or just stating a fact? His stub of a tail twitched behind him as he watched the shewolf, he wondered who she was to this pack, did she mean a lot to them, or would they even notice her missing? Hyena sneered at the thought of her going missing, it would be a bit of chaos for a pack not being able to find their missing member- would they think that she had just run off to be a loner... perhaps.. "Hmm" He hummed aloud as he thought about it, his olive green gaze locked on the shewolf before him.

At the stranger's words, Lyn's ears pinned back against her head; she was not happy about his answer. How could loners be so arrogant? And the way he was looking at her now- oh boy, it made her hackles stand on end and shivers run up her spine. But suddenly something occurred to her; she couldn't back out like she wanted to. Not anymore. She was an alpha. She had to protect her pack. Lyn's muzzled wrinkled more, but this time, with anger, as her tail pointed toward the sky. She buried the fear and instead put the well-being of her pack at the front of her mind.

"You will go around us." Lyn's voice was forceful, authoritative. She would not let this loner best her. If things had been different, if he wasn't starring at her so oddly, she might have escorted him through, or just let him pass. But the smell, his weird behavior; she couldn't chance it.  "Markers are put up for a reason. You may be a loner, but there're some things you can't get away with. Not in my territory." Her tone practically screamed I'm the alpha here.

-----

Sparkanine:

Hyena sneered, the ends of his lips curling as he smiled. She was going to fight him off if need be- though Hyena wasn't a one on one kind of fighter, more of an assassin, he wasn't sure if he could even take this shewolf or not; at least not fang to fang. "My, my, my, she's got some back bone~" He cued softly, as he stood up and shook out his pelt, loose hairs flying around in the air here and there.  Her territory, oh she must be an alpha- the alpha of this pack. "Interesting..." He thought aloud, always finding it rather.. empowering when a shewolf lead a pack instead of a male, it was just odd to him. "I'm.. Hyena.." He stated calmly as he looked her over, almost as if he was sizing her up; debating on whether or not he was going to lock fangs with her or not...

Lyn's eyes were locked onto the stranger as he stood and shook out his pelt. She didn't step back or break eye contact as he looked her over either, nor did she give her name when he spoke and told her his name. Hyena? What kind of name was that anyway? Instead, she just raised her lip slightly, one of her canines visible now.

"Good to know." She said rather stiffly. Obviously, she didn't' really care about his name. Right now, she just wanted him away from Chandor- far away. And if she had to fight him for that to happen, then she would do it.

-----

Sparkanine:

Hyena cackled a laugh and began to prance in place- almost like a track run jogging in place and getting ready for a run. Hyena then began to sing; very out of tune but he didn't care. "Wolf of the woods all high and mighty looking to fight against the low and unsightly. Moxy and strength is on her side be chaos and death is all that this wolf needs to drive." The deemed insane wolf was clearly singing about him and this other wolf before him; he began to pace back and forth in front of her, his green eye never leaving her own gaze. "I like you.. Miss.. You are very daring... Ehehehe... But I don't wish to fight you, alas I know when I won't win; I might be insane, but I'm not stupid." His voice had changed slightly toward the end of his sentence, seeming more like a real wolf and not one that was loco- alas, it didn't stay like that for long. The next time he spoke, he was back to his normal self. "I will see you again one day.. Oh indeed.. " There was a long pause as he turned and began to trot away. "But what remains to be seen is whether or not you will see me...~" Hyena then disappeared into the shadows, as he trotted away from Chandor territories, humming calmly to himself.

For a moment, Lyn thought the stranger might attack her. But then, he pranced about and began to sing. It was an odd song and it made her grow even more wary and on edge. As he continued, Lyn really didn't know how to respond. In some ways, he sounded almost like a normal wolf, but then he went right back to sounding just plain crazy. Lyn didn't like it. It was all too confusing. She was about to open her mouth and tell him to get going, but he was already turning and trotting into the distance. His final words struck her though. What was that supposed to mean? Was it a threat? She didn't know, but one thing she did know was that she definitely did not want to see Hyena again.
:icondomain-of-the-wolf:
