Personality: Merciful, kind, generous, compassionate, intelligent, wise
History: Huruma was born into a pride much like the Pridelands. The leaders first born son was to take over the throne when he died, however, any other male cubs were banished, for safety purposes. He was taught kindness and compassion, but Huruma was not the first born, and was banished when he was old enough to live on his own (around 1 1/2 years old). This made him angry, but instead of continuing that anger, he turned it into a chance to begin a pride with new ideas and teachings. First, he needed to find a willing lioness. But after weeks of searching, he nearly gave up. He crossed into every nearby pride to try and persuade a lioness into running away with him, but to no avail. He either got chased out by the male lions or swatted in the face by the females and left to sulk. After many failed attempts, he found himself a nice little nook in between a pile of boulders that rested just beside a watering hole. He stayed there for a couple days, wondering if he'd ever find a female. Were his dreams useless? He was just a young lion after all. His father hadn't even taught him how to rule a kingdom. And just as he was about to give up on the idea completely, he spotted a very light colored lioness across the watering hole. She was alone, trotting happily along the shore line of the pool. Now was his chance. He hopped out from the boulders, nearly falling face first into the pond and scaring the unsuspecting lioness half to death. After he regained his composure, looking quite ashamed and foolish, he thought for sure she would turn and run to the hills, but instead, she simply laughed. The two began to talk and she introduced herself as Uzima (meaning full of life). Huruma explained himself and his ideas to her, and she listened intently. After hearing his intentions, she gladly accepted, which took Huruma by surprise. She explained that her pride was large and would never notice her if she left. She dreamed of adventure, and this was just what she was looking for. They ventured together through the savannah, and found themselves a small territory to call their own. After many months of trying for a cub, they were finally blessed with a girl, which they named Adimu (meaning unique), because she was even lighter colored than her mother. The three spent all their time together, and when Uzima was well enough to hunt again, she left Huruma and Adimu alone together. He taught Adimu of his past and told her stories of his journey. But one evening, Uzima did not return. Instead, a band of hyenas surrounded them and drove them out. As they were chased out, Huruma spotted the lifeless body of his mate, next to the carcass of a wildebeest, which had been picked apart by the hyenas no doubt. He shielded Adimu's eyes as they ran and held back the tears. But once they were out of range of the hyenas he could no longer hold it in. He and Adimu sobbed together for many nights. The weight of his grief was still heavy, but Huruma knew he needed a mother for Adimu. They traveled once more, searching for another willing female. It wasn't long before he stumbled across another lone lioness. She was dark and she lay nearly unnoticeable in the tall grass. She wasn't asleep, but her mind seemed to be wandering, because she didn't notice Huruma or Adimu as they neared. Startled when Huruma voiced his appearance, she was guarded and growled at him. Until she noticed Adimu. Huruma, again, explained himself and pleaded with this female, who was named Maua (meaning flower). She agreed after a short time, and the two with Adimu searched for yet another territory. He was pleased to see this female take up a motherly job so well, and it wasn't long before they became fond of one another. She told him the story of her past and he accepted her still. Not long after, they were wed, with a cub on the way. When Huruma learned that it was a male, he began teaching the cub how to rule their kingdom. About a year later, Maua gave birth again, to fraternal twins, one female and one male, whom they named Chiku (meaning talks a lot) and Penda (meaning love). Huruma was at a loss, he now had two sons. Instead of only training one as king, as the younger grew, he taught them both, explaining that both could rule if they so wished it. He taught them that being king was a large responsibility and if there were two of them who ruled, it would be easier for the both of them, and they would always have someone to give them advice if they needed it. After the two cubs told Huruma that they had no problem with this, he eased back into his role as king. His dreams were finally coming true.

Strengths: He has great compassion and will always hear both sides of a story before making his final decision.
Weaknesses: Because of his compassionate side, he tends to give people a lot of second chances, even if they deceive him every time.
