Ducking through the brush, Lyn found herself in a very familiar and nostalgic place. She trotted through one of her old paths in Kausen that she used to patrol on in her younger days. It seemed that it was only used as a deer trail now from the looks of the tracks, but that didn't really matter to her right now. She needed to speak with her father as soon as possible; she only said a quick goodbye to Rowan and the pups before she was on her way. The war between Aryn and Blutwald ebbed closer and closer each day and it weighed heavily on the shewolf's mind. She feared for the safety of not only her own pack but her fathers as well, which is what she had come to discuss with him.

If this wasn't such a serious visit, she would've howled to let everyone know she was here, but she would rather not have her discussion be interrupted this time. Lyn felt a little guilty about that but now wasn't the time to socialize. She followed the familiar scent of her father and was soon upon him. "Dad." She called, her voice happy but strained.

Since the birth of Lyn's pups, Gregor's mind had been swimming with thoughts of family and regret. As he was getting on in years, the weight of realization that he had no heir was becoming much more apparent. Had he been wrong to allow all of his children to leave his pack? Even Lyn had gone, who he always thought would one day lead after him. Of course, she was doing well for herself, and she had made him proud becoming an alpha on her own.

"Dad." At first he had thought the voice was merely in his memory, a ghost which came out with his worried thoughts. But as he turned around and looked out of habit, he saw his grown daughter there.

"Lyn?" He took a few steps towards her, surprised to see her. The look on her face sent his hairs on end, he could tell immediately that something wasn't right. "What are you doing here? What's wrong?" He asked, all the while closing the gap between them and giving her a familiar rub on her forehead with his chin and cheek.

Lyn was always happy to see her father now; he had grayed so much in the past few years since she became alpha and it was only now dawning on her how old he really was. That only strengthened her desire to speak with him about the future of their packs. As he came closer she gave him a smile and welcomed the nuzzle, which she returned gladly. When they broke the embrace her smile faded; he was always quick to pick up on her emotions- maybe because he knew her or maybe because she was just like him, she wasn't sure which.

"I came to talk with you about the war." Lyn said. She moved into the sunlight, suddenly feeling a shiver run down her spine as she continued to stand in the shadows. She sat in the grass and took a deep breath; it was comforting to be back where she grew up, but it was obvious how anxious she was. Worry lined her features, made her seem older than she appeared. "You have heard about the war, right? Between Blutwald and Aryn?"

She moved away from him and presented her reason for the visit, and Gregor then understood why she was there. He watched as she moved into the sun and sat in the grass, and the old male followed suit and did the same, facing her so that they could speak. "Only rumors." Gregor admitted. The Kausen territory was rather far from the conflict, but at that thought he realized that Chandor was right there, a neighbor to Aryn, so close to the crossfire that perhaps she wasn't safe. Or her pups, what if they weren't safe?

"Is Chandor being affected?" He asked as frankly as he could. Should that be the case, Gregor knew that he would do whatever it took to help.

Lyn followed Gregor with her eyes as he came to sit opposite her. She let her tail curl protectively around her legs as the frown traced her face.

"No, that's why I came to talk with you. Chandor isn't being affected...yet. But I'm afraid that it could very well be though, because Aryn is only a mountain range away. I probably haven't heard any more than you have, but I know that it's serious." Lyn stopped and took a breath. Talking about this out loud only brought out her fear even more and she had to physically force herself to focus on her father. In many ways, Lyn was still a pup, learning to be an alpha in a trial by fire. She hoped Gregor would have some insight or at least some advice- something, anything to help at all. "I don't know what to do, dad. I'm afraid for my pack, my family." She didn't need to say that she was afraid for him, it was obvious in the look she gave him.

Gregor nodded in thought, brows furrowed at her words and pleas for help. He understood the fear she felt. While Blutwald had changed over the years, it was still a threat to all of the packs around. Aryn was new, he didn't know much about it, but if they were a contender with Blutwald, they all had reason to be afraid.

He thought of his own pack, so small now, less than twenty wolves. And he thought of Lyn, his grandchildren. "Perhaps it would be best to combine strengths." Gregor suggested, firmly but cautiously. He knew the idea was difficult to accept, but together, they would both stand a better chance. "Land is just land - family is what is important. I can rally Kausen to move to Chandor, if you have the room for us?" He asked. He knew that although kausen was a prime piece of territory, Lyn was the younger and more healthy of the two. Should the two packs follow one alpha, it only made sense that it be Lyn. She was going to live many more years, and had heirs to continue her legacy.

Lyn waited for his response. He seemed to take a moment to think and she too furrowed her brows. When he spoke finally about combining the packs, Lyn at first was unhappy with the idea. She pursed her lips; she didn't like the idea of letting Kausen- the land which she grew up on -fall into someone elses hands, but she couldn't argue that it was a good idea. Not to mention she did like the notion of having Gregor so close to her. She couldn't bear leaving him during a war. Eventually, her features softened and she nodded.

"You're right, I think that's the best option." She said, giving him a solid nod of approval. "We have room for as many as you have, I'm sure. You gather your pack and I'll make sure mine is ready to welcome you when you're ready."

The old male nodded silently, he realized it may take some time to prepare both packs for the change. "Alright," Gregor agreed, "Two weeks, and I will bring my packmates to you." He concluded. That should be enough time to settle his pack and figure out what was going to happen to everybody, and hopefully it would give Lyn and Chandor enough time as well.

Lyn travels to Kausen to discuss the future of her pack with Gregor. She's worried about the Aryn/Blutwald war and Gregor proposes to merge Kausen into Chandor, creating one big pack that will be able to withstand the backlash that may come from battle.
